Who We Are

Novel Opportunities is a non-profit organisation that seek to ensure underprivileged girls and young women have opportunities that build the required skills and competencies to create a productive and healthy society.

If we invest in women, we can be
certain of an empowered Nation.

Gender equality refers to uniform rights, resources, opportunities and protection for girls, boys, men and women. Gender equality is not only a fundamental right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.

When we look around us and observe men and women in a range of roles in Nigeria, it is apparent there are wide gaps and colossal disparities with women and girls on the receiving end. There are large gender pay gaps across the labour market with women doing more work for less pay. Women suffer gender-based violence and discrimination all over the country daily.

The inequalities between men and women continue to hinder development and prosperity in the nation. Providing equal opportunities for women enables them to use their talents in the workforce and make excellent choices for themselves, their families and the country.

Gender biases are embedded in our culture hence it is critical to involve men and women rather than only women when dealing with it for a better country where current and future generations can get a chance for advancement. It is only when all people are valued as equals that we can really hope for an illuminated future, full of ideas and inputs from all.
